Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@spokaneonthegonotary.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A notarization is a certificate filled out by the Notary, certifying certain facts about the signer and not the truthfulness, accuracy, or validity of the document.

A current passport, state-issued driver's license, state or federal government-issued identification card, military identification or another form of state or federal government identification are all acceptable forms of identification in Washington State. The identification must include a picture, physical description and signature.

The following are some of the Notarial Acts that can be performed in Washington State:

Acknowledgment: The signer personally appears before the Notary, is identified and signs the document or acknowledges that they previously signed the document of their own free will.

Verification on Oath or Affirmation (Jurat): The signer personally appears before the Notary, is identified, signs in the presence of the Notary, and is administered an oath or affirmation declaring the truthfulness of the document.

Witnessing or attesting a signature: The signer personally appears before the Notary,  is identified and signs in the presence of the Notary.

Sometimes the notarial wording is not found on the document you need notarized. When this happens, the signer should ask the receiving agency what type of notarization is needed or seek the advice of an attorney. The signer may also choose the act themselves.  The Notary cannot recommend or give advise regarding which notarial act is needed - which would be considered the unauthorized practice of law.

No.

I am not attorney,  therefore I cannot explain or interpret the contents of any document for you, instruct you on how to complete a document or direct you on the advisability of signing a particular document. I am not allowed to draft legal records or give advice on legal matters. Doing so would be considered the unauthorized practice of law.

We are a mobile Notary, so we come to you!  Our job is to make your life easier, so choose a place that works best for you, whether that's your home, your place of business, favorite coffee shop or virtually any other public spot.

We are a strictly mobile Notary, so we do not have a physical office location.  If you don't need a mobile service, may we suggest:
